Business Development Director
We are seeking a highly motivated and results-driven Business Development Director to join our growing outsourced accounting and tax services company. In this role, you will be responsible for driving revenue growth through the acquisition of new clients, expanding relationships with existing clients, and positioning our services as a comprehensive, strategic solution for businesses across various industries. Your focus will be on identifying opportunities, building relationships, and closing deals, while working closely with internal teams to ensure client satisfaction and service delivery.
Responsibilities
Lead Generation & Prospecting:
Identify and target potential clients who would benefit from outsourced accounting and tax services.
Develop and implement strategies for lead generation, including cold calling, email outreach, networking, and attending industry events.
Leverage CRM tools to track and manage leads, and ensure a pipeline of quality prospects.
Client Acquisition & Relationship Building:
Build strong, long-lasting relationships with key decision-makers at potential client organizations.
Lead the sales cycle from initial inquiry to deal closure, presenting our services as the solution to their accounting and tax needs.
Prepare and deliver presentations and proposals tailored to client needs.
Sales Strategy & Market Research:
Conduct market research to identify trends, potential clients, and industry challenges that can be addressed with our services.
Monitor competitors and their offerings to identify new business opportunities and areas for improvement.
Develop and execute business development strategies that align with the company’s growth objectives.
Collaboration & Coordination:
Work closely with the marketing team to develop content and campaigns that attract prospective clients.
Coordinate with the internal accounting and tax teams to ensure smooth onboarding and continued support for new clients.
Achieving Sales Targets:
Meet or exceed sales targets and performance metrics set by the company.
Report on pipeline activity, sales performance, and market insights to senior management.
Client Retention and Upselling:
Cultivate existing client relationships to identify upsell and cross-sell opportunities for additional accounting or tax services.
Collaborate with the client service team to ensure high client satisfaction, retention, and repeat business.
Qualifications
Experience:
3+ years of business development or sales experience in the accounting, tax, finance, or professional services industries.
Proven track record of success in achieving sales targets and building client relationships.
Education:
Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Accounting, or related field (preferred).
Skills & Abilities:
Strong understanding of outsourced accounting and tax services.
Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
Ability to analyze client needs and present customized solutions.
Proficient in CRM software (e.g., Salesforce, HubSpot) and MS Office Suite.
Strong problem-solving skills and a proactive, goal-oriented mindset.
