What We’ve Learned on the Road to the Inc. 5000

Making the Inc. 5000 list isn’t just about hitting growth targets—it’s about doing it in a way that’s sustainable, intentional, and true to your values. 

At Acru Solutions, we’re proud to have earned our spot in 2025. But getting here wasn’t a straight line, and it certainly wasn’t effortless. Here are a few things we’ve learned along the way—both the hard way and the right way. 

1. Growth is only good if it’s the right kind. 

Chasing numbers without a clear strategy or internal alignment will burn out your team and erode your culture. For us, growth has always needed to pass two filters: 

  • Does it align with our core values? 

  • Can our team support it without sacrificing quality or well-being? 

If the answer to either was no, we said no—even when it was hard. 

2. Invest in your people before you think you're ready. 

One of our best decisions was hiring smart and early, even when the ROI wasn’t immediately clear. We focused on finding people who shared our mindset: curious, collaborative, and committed to doing things the right way. That investment paid off in loyalty, innovation, and client trust. 

3. Process isn’t boring—it's scalable. 

In the early days, we solved problems as they came. But as we grew, we realized that good process isn't about bureaucracy—it’s about clarity. Documented workflows, thoughtful onboarding, and consistent communication don’t slow you down. They keep things moving when everything speeds up. 

4. Not every opportunity is a good one. 

Learning when to walk away from a misaligned client or pass on a flashy—but distracting—partnership is a skill. Saying no isn’t always comfortable, but in hindsight, it’s often where the smartest moves begin. 

5. Your values are your GPS. 

In fast-growth environments, it’s easy to drift. But the companies that stay grounded are the ones that revisit their values often—and actually use them to guide decisions. We built ours into our hiring, our strategy sessions, and our client relationships. That alignment saved us time and energy at every step. 

To other founders or leaders walking the same path: 

Growth is exciting, but it’s also vulnerable. Build slowly where it matters. Hire people you trust. Create space to ask hard questions. And remember: hitting a list like this is just the outcome of hundreds of smaller, values-driven decisions.
